MANY CONGRATULATIONS to our musical director Dan and his lovely wife Caroline on the birth of their beautiful baby son Ben, who arrived safely on Sunday 22 December 2013.

Baby Ben’s arrival brought a delightful close to the Choir’s performances for 2013.

During a very busy December, we began our Christmas programme on the 6th, at the invitation of the Caverswall Friendship Club, where we sang a varied programme of not-quite- and then more traditional Christmas music, adding some well loved carols for everyone to enjoy.  We were given a lovely warm welcome and treated to an array of delicious cakes and mince pies.  Thank You Caverswall !

On 18 December, following an invitation from Endon Boat Club,  the Choir was happy to join them for their festive celebrations.  Outside, the weather was atrocious, but inside, we were given a very warm welcome from Boat Club members (and more lovely hot mince pies!).   A ‘rival’ performance between Sopranos and Altos was much enjoyed and along with a fair bit of audience participation - a great evening was had by all - a whole new take on “The 12 Days of Christmas”  will remain with many of us for years to come!

And on to our final performance of the year - the Christmas Service held at Endon Methodist Church on 22 December.  Always a much loved event throughout our community, the service was led by Rev Julie Herbert, with contributions from other local churches, singing and playing by children from Endon Hall Primary school choir, traditional Bible readings and hymns.  Endon Community Choir performed three separate items - all made very special for us by the news of baby Ben’s safe arrival.

A Very Merry Christmas to All.

And on to an exciting New Year - and a new rehearsal venue.

One of the Choir’s main aims is to attract new members who’d like to enjoy, as a low cost activity, the fun of belonging to a community musical group. With this in mind, and keen to retain our links with Endon community, we now have a new rehearsal venue :

Endon Village Hall First Rehearsal - Tuesday 14 January 2014 7.00pm.

The Village Hall offers us a number of advantages - including the opportunity to rehearse far more frequently during the year, which will enable us to put into practice some of the plans currently in the pipeline for 2014.

Rehearsals will continue on Tuesday evenings between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

So – if you're looking for a new challenge for 2014 - maybe something you’ve not thought about before?  Do you enjoy singing along to the radio, or in the shower, or driving into town - then look no further - we could be the answer to your 2014 ambitions!

Make a note of the date and time - you won’t be auditioned, you don’t need to read music or perform solo.  We’re a really friendly lot and you can be sure of a very warm welcome.

Just come along to the first rehearsal - you never know what you can achieve till you give it a try!

Most importantly - we guarantee

Our sincere thanks to Endon High School for all of their support to Endon Community Choir since our earliest days - we’re very proud of our association with the school and look forward to continued involvement with them.
